IFIC-SAMAKAL Awards Five Entrepreneurial Endeavors and Entrepreneurs

IFIC Bank and Samakal jointly have introduced ‘IFIC-Samakal Shilpo o Banijjyo Purushkar’, a joint venture award to recognise the special contribution to businesses and individuals in the country’s industries and commerce sector.

On Saturday, 12th October, 2019, at Bangabandhu International Convention Center in the Capital, Five Entrepreneurs and Endeavors have been honored on this regard.

 

Agriculture Minister Dr Mohammad Abdur Razzak was the chief guest of the ceremony. Private Industry and Investment Advisor Salman F Rahman, President of FBCCI Sheikh Fazle Fahim attended the ceremony as Special Guests. With them, acting Chief Editor of Samakal Mustafiz Shafi and Managing Director of IFIC Bank Mr. Shah A Sarwar altogether presented the guests with honorary crests.

Chairpersons and Presidents of various companies and groups as well as Business Association’s presidents attended the program. Among them, Association of Grassroots Women Entrepreneurs Bangladesh (AGWEB) President Ms. Mousumi Islam and Vice President Ms. Mahbub Ara Jolly were also present.

 

Those who have been awarded: Lifetime achievement award has been given to late Major General Amjad Khan Chowdhury, founder of PRAN-RFL Group. His two children received the award on his behalf. Right now, PRAN-RFL Group is one of he biggest conglomerates in Bangladesh and home of many employees.

Big Industry Award of the Year went to Walton Hi-Tech Industries Ltd. From the birth at 1977, Walton has established monopoly market in Refrigerator Sector in Bangladesh. Right now, it exports goods at 20 countries.

 

Women Entrepreneur of the Year – award went to Miss Ruba Khanom, owner of M/S Afia Khanom Fisheries, located in Ramdhana, Bishwanath, Sylhet. She has started her journey with 15 thousand taka only in 2012 which has now turned into 6 Acres of Ideal Fishery. Last year, her revenue was Tk. 19 Lakh from this firm.

Best SME award went to KPC Industries. They make disposable paper cups and disposable plates which has now a yearly revenue of Tk. 14 crore. The company started its journey in 2010 with only 3 employees.

Young Entrepreneur of the Year-award went to Mr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Chairman, Fortune Shoes Ltd. Right now, the company has 5000 eployees, where 70 percent are women.
